Easter is rolling around once again. I’ve just started thinking about what we are going to be doing this year. One thing I do know, Ted isn’t going to be getting candy in his Easter basket. I’m a “mean mom” and am anti candy holidays. I know I’m only really getting away with it right now because Ted is so young but I’ll ride this out as long as possible.
Candy-Free Easter Basket Ideas
Jumbo Crayons
It’s a classic and Ted goes through them. If you add a coloring book, you have a full gift set right there.
Jumbo Chalk
I also love chalk as a spring and summer activity. It also keeps the mess outside versus in my house.
Bubble Wands
I saw a mom on Instagram say that she buys these jumbo bubble wands in bulk then hands them out one or two at a time over various holidays. If you don’t want a lot of plastic waste, you can get liquid bubble solution and an automatic bubble machine. Ted got one for Easter last year and it was a big hit all spring and summer long.
Small Toys and Games
These Sesame Street Little People is the special little something that Ted is getting in his Easter basket this year. He’s obsessed with Sesame Street right now and I know he’s going to freak out over these little figurines. Last year he got this toy egg set that was a big hit. Other ideas could be flashcards, matching games, mega tiles
Sticker and Activity Books
Amazon has a bunch of Easter-themed activity books. These would be great if you’re trying to keep little kids (mostly) still and silent during a church service. I like this one where you give the Easter bunny a face and accessories.
Easter Books
There are tons of great Easter-themed books on the market. All your favorite cartoon characters have an Easter book, plus there are plenty of religious books as well. Ted is probably going to get this Sesame Street one this year.
Easter Outfit
Roll up their Easter Sunday outfit and tuck it into their basket. It fills up space and will help prop up other items inside the basket.
