J.Crew dropped their first 2021 summer new arrivals last week and I’m into it. Like the past several seasons, J.Crew seems to have embraced the return to basics and comfort that the Covid-19 pandemic forced on us. This batch of new items includes a lot of comfy loungewear, matching sets, and lots of linen.
While I would normally consider myself a color girl, I have to say that I do like the muted hues in this collection. Lots of washed-out pastels that don’t feel like your typical spring pastels (see Miranda Priestly rolling her eyes). It’s more like if you left pastels out in the sun and they got a little sun-bleached. There’s a shade of muted dusty rose that I’m really into. Feminine without being in your face pink, if you know what I mean.
Here are some of my favorites from this latest batch of J.Crew summer new arrivals. You’ll get a little bit of everything: sundresses, beach coverups, shoes, jewelry, and loungewear.
Happy shopping!

I think this dress is completely adorable. It would look cute with sandals, sneakers, flats, or heels. Love the subtle check print.
Here is the same dress in solid colors. I think the white version is very pretty.
These linen shorts are very popular and sell out every year. This summer J.Crew brought them back in a bunch of new colors as well as the classics.
I’d order these sooner rather than later because they will sell out.
Hello gorgeous! So pretty and very flattering according to sources.
I love a pair of chambray lightweight pants for the summer months. These are a straight-leg version of my chambray pants that I got from J.Crew several years ago.
Another look-alike that I already have in my wardrobe and can’t wait to break out for the summer.
These tee shirt dresses are simple but you might be shocked at how often you end up wearing one
A simple staple but these sweatshirts are a cotton/cashmere blend for added cozy factor. They also have matching jogger pants.
This tee is so simple but I like the oversized drapey fit. Nice for a more relaxed look.
I mean these are gorgeous and would instantly dress up a white tee shirt and jeans outfit.
J.Crew can out with a Barbour-esque field jacket. If you want the Barbour look but for (a little) less
Another Barbour look alike. This one is a quilted field jacket but it’s 100% cotton so it’s light weight for spring/fall if you live in a warmer climate.
In my opinion, I only need one pair of “going out” shoes in the summer and those are a pair of espadrille wedges. These are a gorgeous neutral that would pair great with dresses or jeans.
This linen dress looks like a perfect beach to dinner style cover-up. I really love the pale pink color
Here’s a similar linen piece that could be a pool or beach cover-up but in shirt form.
