Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara Review

Hi guys!

Maybelline recently launched a new product they have labeled as a “brow mascara“. I picked up this product a couple weeks ago (as seen in my Mini Ulta Haul post) and have been trying it out and wanted to share my findings with you guys!

Take a look!
Maybelline Brow Drama in Soft Brown

WHAT IT IS
This is a tinted brow gel that will give your brows a little bit of color and hold throughout the day

WHERE TO BUY
So, I first saw it at Ulta but since then, I have seen this brow gel at Target, Walgreens, and a local drugstore chain.

PRICE
Retails between $7-$9

THOUGHTS
I, as a brow newbie, have really liked this product as it isn’t too difficult to use. Especially if you already have darker brows,  it only gives the tiniest amount of color to the brows. For the brow expert, I can see how this product might not be worth the time or become another step in their routine. However, this product could be the dupe to the much more expensive brow gels on the market, Benefit Gimme Brow and Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel. I have never tried those product so I can’t really say if it is a good comparison but it seems to be from what I have heard from others.

If you are not a person who needs to fill in your brows much at all (yours truly), this can take a two step process into one. Using more gel in patchy spots, then combing through give me enough color that I’m set for the day. However if you have sparse brows, you might need a brow pencil as well.

There are two things that I don’t really like about this product. Firstly, that it only comes in three colors:blonde, soft brown, and deep brown. However, the Benefit Gimme Brow only comes in two shades but another popular brow gel, Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel comes in seven colors.

The other thing that I’m not a huge fan of is the applicator brush. It looks like a thin mascara wand but with a huge ball shaped brush at the end. I have fairly thick brows and, if I’m not careful, I will brush outside the lines of my brow. For those with thinner brows, I can see how the size of the brush can become a problem.

FINAL CONCLUSION
I like the product. I think it is a nice beginners way to start at brow routine, if you are interested in grooming and filling in your brows but don’t want to spend a bunch of money.

Have you tried the Maybelline Brow mascara? What does your brow routine consist of?
Let me know in the comment!

Until next time,

I also have this! I'm not sure if I love it, but it's nice to add on top of my other brow products to keep the hairs i place.
