Good morning friends! Today I thought that I might try something new. I don’t normally do many try-on ‘hauls’ but I had the opportunity to check out the new J.Crew Fall Collection ‘With a Twist’ over the weekend as I was hosting an event in the Bellevue Square location. I snapped some pictures as I was trying things on and though to share my take on all the items I tried on. Many of these items didn’t have reviews online when I looked so I hope that this will be helpful as you look through the new collection and make your purchases.
Let me know what you think of this type of blog post and if you’d like to see more like it in the future. Now let’s get into the clothes!
- Wearing size: small
- Price: $89.50
- Colors: pink, grey, burgundy, cream, green
- Thoughts: I love nothing more than a cable knit in the winter so of course, I ended up walking away with this sweater. I’m wearing a small but probably could have sized down to an extra small to have it be more fitted. Pretty standard fit – neither too boxy or too fitted.
Everyday Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
- Wearing size: small
- Price: $128
- Colors: various other colors and patterns including this leopard print
- Thoughts: I found that this sweater ran a little small on me and I should have sized up to medium. It’s supposed to be fitted but this was too tight for my taste. Otherwise, I loved this sweater! Cute print options and very affordable for 100% cashmere. This style is a 3/4 sleeve but the solid colors are full length.
- Wearing size: xx-small
- Price: $36.50
- Colors: various other colors and patterns
- Thoughts: I grabbed this to try on with the pants but I had to feature it because I love these turtlenecks. My true size is small. I wrote an entire blog post on this perfect fall layering piece here
- Wearing size: 28
- Price: $128
- Colors: olive, khaki, white, lilac
- Thoughts: I didn’t like how these looked on my but they looked really cute on the display. They have three inseam options available so no matter your height, you can have cropped pants without it looking odd.
Vintage Straight Corduroy Pants
- Wearing size: 28
- Price: $110
- Colors: navy, teal, grey, white, pink
- Thoughts: I LOVED these pants! They were super soft and really comfortable to move around in. I used to wear corduroys as a kid so it’s also a nostalgia thing for me. These come in three inseams as well as a bunch of cute colors. I might go back for them
- Wearing size: 6
- Price: $53
- Colors: blue check, pink check, yellow check
- Thoughts: This shirt isn’t new but it’s a favorite. It also comes in classic, petite, and tall sizes.
- Wearing size: small
- Price: $89.50
- Colors: pink and olive
- Thoughts: This shirt looked really cute on the hanger but I didn’t love it on me. It’s made of a heavier twill fabric which would be nice for fall and cooler weather.
- Wearing size: small
- Price: $128
- Colors: only available in this print
- Thoughts: This dress would look so cute with ankle boots now, then with tall OTK boots once the weather cools off some more. It’s a very forgiving shape with a drop hem and is very flowy. I really liked the style a lot but wish it was available in other prints.
- Wearing size: medium
- Price: $118
- Colors: pink, teal, black
- Thoughts: This dress was SO SOFT! It felt like I was wearing a blanket. I loved it and might go back for it. There’s also a sweater in this same fabric. The dress also goes up to 3X in size.
Overall, I really like the new collection. It really does dial into old classics and puts a twist on them. Lots of cozy fabrics that made me feel a little better about the temperature being 44 degrees when I got up this morning.
Will you be shopping the new J.Crew Fall Collection? Let me know what you get if you end up with anything!
Until next time,
