I wanted to start off today by saying thank you to all of you who have reached out here or on social media regarding my post about Why I Decided to Become a Stay-at-Home Mom. I was a little nervous hitting publish on that one as it can be a controversial topic in some circles but I’ve only heard positive feedback.
Things have been fairly quiet around here over the weekend as it hasn’t stopped raining since Thursday. The Seattle Times headline had it right, “The Big Dark is coming”. I at least was lulled by all the sunshine we had been having that I forgot a bit about what was coming. Ahh well, I don’t know why I’m surprised. The Big Dark happens every year. Still manages to surprise me.
On Saturday we went to a community Harvest Festival. All I knew going in was that the signs said it was for families with kids. Well, it was for families with older kids, ya know, that can walk. Teddy couldn’t participate in anything so we basically just went, took a lap, then left. I’m just happy that I had an excuse to put Teddy into his Halloween costume because he was just the cutest little lion! I don’t think that he cracked a smile the entire time he was in the costume though. So far Halloween is not his holiday.
To get to today’s outfit details, this is the same outfit that I wore in my Stay-At-Home Mom post. These are all items that I’ve been wearing on repeat lately. I even have detailed reviews on several of the pieces featured today. Enjoy!
J.Crew Eyelet Top in Yellow
This was one of my favorite tops from the summer. I loved it so much that I caved and got it in yellow for the fall and I haven’t regretted it. The first version of this shirt that came out over the summer ran large but I find that the yellow version is much more true to size. I’m wearing a medium and it isn’t too oversized or boxy. I just love this color as well. I love wearing yellow because it can get just so grey and gloomy around here and this happy color can help brighten up my mood.
I have an entire review on this eyelet top here if you’re interested but the sizing information isn’t the same as this yellow version. It’s on sale right now with most sizes left in yellow.
Abercrombie and Fitch Skinny Jeans
I haven’t raved enough about these jeans. Mary Kathrine from Gold Hatted Lover shared that these were the best postpartum jeans out there and she was right! They are high waisted and hold everything in but don’t squeeze the life out of me either. They come in a bunch of washes, three inseam lengths, and are so so soft.
And the kicker? They are on sale for $40. They go on sale often so if you’re in the market for some really nice affordable denim, keep these on your radar. I think I might go back and get them in another dark or black wash.
Madewell Frances Loafers
These have become my go-to everyday shoes. I wear them at least twice a week because they go with just about everything in my closet. Plus they are comfortable but still make me feel like I made an effort to get dressed up on “mommy duty” days when I’m just running around with Teddy.
They run true to size. I’m wearing a 7.5. They come in so many different colors from pink and white to leopard and snake print. You can see my entire review about the Frances loafers here
Coach City Bag
This bag is original from when the bag launched during my grandmother’s time. She rarely used it and gifted it to me years ago. Sadly Coach doesn’t make this style anymore but you can find tons of this style on eBay and Poshmark and very decently priced. It’s a classic that will never go out of style.
