10 Week Check In | Quarantine Life

So it’s officially been 10 weeks since lockdowns and stay-at-home orders went into effect. How are we doing?

I know some places are starting to open up again. Seattle is not one of those places. We have official stay-at-home orders until the end of May, then they are starting a four-phase process to re-open with each phase lasting a minimum of three weeks. I know it’s for the best but staying in and staying home is just getting harder and harder as the weather warms up. I’m grateful every day that we have a backyard and greenspace where Teddy can run around but I miss seeing my friends in person.

Quote of the Week: After food, air, water, and warmth, music is the next necessity of life – Keith Richards

Things that Make Me Happy: Teddy has started doing this thing where he’ll take me by the hand and run around with me. Most of the time, it’s his way of telling me that he wants to go somewhere specific. I just love the little hand wrapped around a couple of my fingers. If our hands start slipping, he’ll stop and readjust with both hands. It’s the sweetest.

What I’m Eating and Drinking: My snack of choice is popcorn and lately I’ve been loving LiveLovePop. They have so many different flavors and all of them are really low in calories. My favorite is the honey bbq flavor followed by the salt & vinegar. If you are in the Seattle area, you can find basically all of the flavors at Bartell’s Drugstore.

What I’m Watching and Listening: I just finished listening to the podcast Winds of Change and it was really good! It’s about rock music at the end of the Cold War. The journalist who narrates was told a story about how the CIA actually wrote the metal song “Winds of Change” by the Scorpions and he is on a mission to uncover the truth. It’s a great story! If you want to listen, it’s exclusive to Spotify but it is free to listen.

What’s in My Cart: I’m on a hunt for a good pair of summer sandals. I shared all the contenders with you guys on Monday’s post about affordable summer sandals. There are a bunch of sales going on right now too because it’s Memorial Day Weekend. The Loft sale I posted about yesterday, there are also amazing deals on J.Crew (60% off), and Nordstrom is having their big clearance sale right now too. I’ll share a separate more in-depth post with a list of the sales going on.

How I’m Sweating: The quaRUNtine half marathon is this weekend! I’m still kind of amazed that it’s already here and that I’ll be running 13 miles on Saturday. I had a 10-mile run last weekend and it went pretty well. I’m hoping for similar results this weekend. I shared some of the lessons I learned from running earlier this week.

What a cute floral top! I’ve been loving popcorn too lately, although we don’t have that brand here. It’s often on special and it’s great for a snack for the kids but I can never resist helping myself too, ha!

Hope you are having a great weekend 🙂 We are having a quiet one at home, staying cosy as it’s so cold this weekend! Winter is here early!
