Summer weather is here (almost) and that means that I’ve been spending way more time outside with Teddy most days. As I imagine many of you moms are also in the same boat, I wanted to share a roundup of some of my favorite summer toddler products. These are items that we used constantly last summer and are already using again this year.
The Best Summer Time Toddler Products
Native Jefferson Shoes
These are the best summer shoes I’ve found for Teddy. They are basically water shoes but he wears them all summer long. They can go from the beach to the playground to the backyard, no sweat! His feet never smell or got too sweaty. And these shoes are super easy to clean. I’ll just hose them off and they are good to go.

Amazon Shorts
I have had the hardest time finding shorts for Ted that aren’t down to his knees. That was until I stumbled upon these shorts from Amazon that were perfect and they still fit this year. They come in a three-pack with a variety of color options for girls and boys plus the pack is only $15. Last year they fit more like a bubble over his diaper and this year they just look like cute standard shorts.
Balance Bike
Ted LOVES riding his bike. Last summer my parents got him a balance bike and he’s since upgraded to a new bigger version this year. He’ll ride around our patio for ages. Scooters are also a great option. Ted always wants to ride the scooters of kids at the park. Micro Kickboard scooters are the ones that I’m looking at for him. They have a version that is 3-in-1 for toddlers to learn either sitting or standing. Whichever you choose, just don’t forget your helmet!
Water Table
This has been the biggest hit at our house! My parents got Teddy a similar water table from Costco and he will play with it every single day, rain or shine. He’s definitely going through more clothes these days but it’s totally worth it. The additional plastic fish that came with it has also doubled as bath toys.
Toddler Slide
Another big hit at our house although it didn’t start out that way. Andrew was searching high and low to find one of these toddler slides on OfferUp or at garage sales. He finally broke and got this one from Target after about a month of searching. Teddy definitely took a couple of days to warm up to the slide but now it’s a new favorite. He will climb up and slide down over and over and over…
Mineral Sunscreen
Don’t forget sunscreen this summer! Mineral sunscreen is great for protecting you and your little ones from the UV rays this summer. I usually use Sunbum sunscreen or their kid’s line Babybum on Ted.
Bubble Wands
If you don’t want to spend the money on a bubble machine, just get your hands on some soapy water and bubble wands! These are fun because you can make some really big bubbles. While the machines go for speed, bubble wands are all about size 😉 You can find them in packs on Amazon or at your local Dollar Store.
