32 Degree Skort (I found this at Costco of all places. They run really big though. I got a medium but should have gone with a small. There’s a lot of room in the waist) // Old Navy Tie Back Tee (I’ve mentioned before that I love Old Navy activewear. This tee is an old favorite. I’m wearing a small. Highly recommend) // newer Brooks windbreaker // Cole Haan GrandPro tennis shoe (So comfortable. So lightweight. Kinda pricy. You can read my full review here)
Guys, I’m pretty excited to say that skorts are back and I am LOVING IT!
I used to wear these a ton back when I was a kid. What’s not to love about being able to wear a skirt but still cover up your underwear when doing flips on the monkey bars? Needless to say, skorts may have gone out of style for over a decade but they are back and I AM HERE FOR IT!
When bike shorts started trending, I wasn’t a huge fan. Then I saw skorts and said “Yes. This is a trend I can get behind!” It’s honestly the perfect blend of athleisure but fun and stylish at the same time.
This exact skort, I found at Costco. I am already a fan of the brand but I’d only ever tried their winter gear. If you aren’t a Costco member, don’t worry. You can find this exact skirt on Amazon. I’m wearing a medium here but I should have gone with a small. It is pretty loose and almost baggy around my waist.
Why are skorts so great? It’s athleisure without being leggings or bike shorts. I feel cute but am still able to get messy (toddler life) and bend down without worrying about flashing anything. It’s a great way to still have the ease, comfort, and convenience of athleisure without feeling like it. I just feel cute and sporty. I also feel covered up. When I’m wearing leggings, I always want to have a shirt that is covering my backside. This is a great alternative for warmer months and no need for a long shirt to keep covered up.
This is a simple and sporty skort outfit idea that was great for running around after Ted. Another athletic skort outfit could be with a crop tank like this one for an actual workout. I can also see myself wearing this with my favorite stripe tee for a less athletic look.
