A quick break in the NSale posts to share some pictures from one of our day trips here in Montana. If you missed the Anniversary Sale posts, I shared short and practical items for women, men, and little boys (ie: myself, Andrew, and Teddy)
But back to things here in Montana!
I have a whole long post in the works toddler-friendly activities here in Whitefish and Kalispell, MT but today I wanted to share one specific outing.
Last week, Teddy and I went to ride the gondola up at Whitefish Mountain Resort, the ski lodge on Big Mountain. In the summer they open the resort up to people who want to hike, mountain bike, or simply enjoy the view from the top. For about $20, you can go either in a closed gondola or on a chair lift all the way to the top where there is a little cafe and views that will stop your heart.
Ted and I obviously opted for the closed gondola although I saw some much braver souls than I with their kids on the chair lifts.
I didn’t take the stroller with me on this outing as I knew it would be pretty inconvenient. Since Ted’s a little older and better at walking these days, I was able to either carry him or have him walk and hold my hand. Walking and NOT holding my hand is his favorite.
As far as COVID precautions, things were pretty average for Montana. All the employees were wearing masks but they weren’t enforcing guests to wear them although many people were. Inside the gondola, there was a sign saying that the lifts were only disinfected once a day and to please use hand sanitizer when exiting the lift. There were giant dispensers of hand sanitizer stationed around the resort, both as you entered and exited the lifts.
When we got to the top, the views take my breath away. These iPhone photos don’t do them any justice whatsoever. You can get an incredible 360 view of the Montana Rocky Mountains. It was so incredibly moving standing at the top of the world. It was so quiet and peaceful that I started crying looking at this view. It was just so incredibly moving and I felt such peace, even with my toddler in tow
When you come to visit Whitefish Montana, make sure a trip up to Big Mountain is on your agenda. You won’t be disappointed.
Now please enjoy this highly paired down quantity of pictures from that trip. My phone is waving the white flag it’s so full of pictures.
