I wanted to introduce a new segment here on Northwest Blonde I’m calling ‘Taking a Blonde Moment’. It’s basically a more casual and breezy post where I can share things that don’t fit into other blog posts. Articles I’ve read, things I’ve purchased, weekend plans, etc. I feel like the name might need some workshopping but I like it.
A Blonde Weekend
Teddy is going to my parent’s this weekend because Andrew has planned out a date weekend for us. We were supposed to go on a trip to Paris that we officially called off this week so we are having a little staycation to drown our sorrows. Just kidding, kind of. But I am excited to have some time to hang out with Andrew without the distraction of Teddy. Don’t worry, we’ll probably end up talking about him a lot regardless.
Take a Moment to Shop
- I finally broke down and got the Bissel steam mop that I’ve seen people talking about for almost a year. I’m way too excited to use it. This is adulthood. Don’t grow up kids.
- These sweatshirts from Aerie look like ideal #momlife clothes. They are styled on the model over a skirt but I’d wear it with leggings.
- I have a really strong urge to get rid of all our mismatched mugs and replace them with a set of these plain white ones. Don’t ask me why.
- Heads up that Amazon announced that Prime Day will be October 13th. They are already sharing some deals you can get early in case you don’t want to wait.
- I got these personalized bookends for Teddy’s room and I’m really happy with how they look. It’s a nice touch for his bookshelf and would make a great baby shower gift.
Take a Moment to Read and Listen
- If you haven’t already, take 20 minutes and read this memorial to RBG. It really paints a picture of just how drastically the world has changed in a single lifetime but how her life changed so much for all of us.
- I binge listened to all the available episodes of ‘Bunga, Bunga’, a new podcast from Wondery. It’s about Silvio Berlusconi and it is wild!
- Do you have a voting plan? Jess Keys shares a great step-by-step in how to make a voting plan for the coming election
- In light of the news about Breonna Taylor’s death a couple of weeks ago, I’d urge you to listen to both parts of The Daily’s story about her life and death. It’s the very least we can do to honor a life that was taken far too soon.
