Hi guys!
Welcome back to Summer Style Week! Today I wanted to address all you working girls and how to dress office appropriate but still have some summer fun.
As I work in a fairly relaxed environment, I am able to dress much more freely than in a corporate environment. Here is an example of something that I would wear to work.
Dress: Forever 21
Shoes:
Lipstick: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balmstain in Lovesick
I love patterned dresses for the summer. This is one of my favorites with simple white outlines of ships on a navy background. I feel it is appropriate for a summery Seattle day.
For flats in the office, a pop of color never goes awry. It adds some interest to an otherwise neutral toned work day outfit. If you’re more of a heels gal, I also love summer style sandals. They come in all heights and styles these days, so let me know your favorites! You can see my two favorites HERE and HERE.
For times when I want something more professional, there are two routes that I like to take. First off is the pencil skirt. In classic colors (black, navy, and cream), they are quite versatile pieces where you can add a printed top or (again) color in the shoe.
Blouse: American Eagle (very old)
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: Kork Ease
The other route that I like are cigarette pants with a blouse, heels, and accessories. I tend to forget that jewelry or a great bag can add so much to an outfit. This summer large statement pieces are “in” and look wonderful in the workplace (especially on black!) Hesitant? Start with a killer cuff or some glam earrings and move from there. I’m still working on this trend myself
You can tell that I love to add color for summer outfits, even in the workplace. Get creative with a colorful shoe that can amp up neutral office tones.
How do you change up your work wardrobe for the summer?
Do you add color or prints?
Let me know in the comments!
I’m on ’em all!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
