De-Clutter Your Makeup Bag - #HowToTuesday

It may not be spring anymore but there is still time to de-clutter our lives and do a little “spring” cleaning. If you are anything like me, once everything is tidy and organized I instantly feel better and calmer. I try to go through the house about once every other week and deep clean but in between those I will just go through and give different rooms a quick tidy up.

In the bathroom, that starts with my makeup. As I test out different products or use different products depending on the day/event, my makeup bag begins to grow and bulge with the amount of products housed within. It gets to the point where things are spilling over and the bag has no chance of closing.

Dump everything out of the bag and spread it on the counter (floor, table, etc) so you can see everything.

Take the time to use a damp cloth and clean the bag itself. If you use a canvas bag, see if there is a tag that would allow you to wash it. This gets out some of the dirt, powder, eyeliner that may be in the bottom of the bag cleaned out.

It also allows you to admire the bag empty for once 😉

Divide the makeup into two groups (or as many as you want depending on your storage options).

The things that I don’t use everyday go into a plastic container in a drawer in the bathroom. This way they are out of the way but still close just in case I want to use them.
