Hi guys!
Happy Friday! I have my first review for you guys today.
If you saw my May Beauty Haul, I recently purchased the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I am (as always) the last one on the boat for these types of things. Especially with high end mascara, I hesitate to dive in if it’s not something that I’m sure is going to work.
So when I saw a little tester pack for the Too Faced mascara and eyeliner at Sephora, I thought to myself “why not try out the smaller version?” I have heard tons of makeup people talk and rave about this mascara for so long that I gave in.
The full size tube of mascara retails at Sephora for $23 and this travel sized kit is $12
This mascara has a special hourglass shaped brush with longer and shorter bristles that “separates, coats, and curls each lash to perfection.” The formula also claims to be made without any parabens. Although it is not a waterproof formula, they claim that the formula also has a “film-forming polymer for smudge-proof, all day wear“.
I tested this out with no prior eyelash curling and nothing else on the eye or lashes. I was really impressed that with a single (healthy) coat of mascara there was already a huge amount of lash separation, definition, and most surprisingly curl. My lashes went from fairly straight to nicely lifted, as if I had used eyelash curlers prior
Here is a closer look. The left eye all bare and naked and the one on the right all lashed up and ready for action!
Overall I am pretty impressed with this mascara. I can understand now why it has developed its cult following which had before befuddled me. I have recently started wearing this amount of lash without any other eye makeup to make the look all about the lashes. For that sort of look, I reach for this mascara and don’t even need falsies.
Two coats on each eye and you are set to go. Seriously, there is no need for false lashes when you have this stuff!
