DIY Face Mask

D.I.Y Face Mask - Northwest Blonde

Today I wanted to share with you guys my favorite diy face mask. After years of taking medication for my acne, I have finally been able to find a more natural solution to my skincare woes.

This make-at-home face mask has only three ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. Honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg work together to help soften and moisturize skin, clear acne and acne scarring, and gently exfoliate in an easy treatment that doesn’t involve harsh chemicals or expensive trips to the dermatologist.

Honey, Cinamon, Nutmeg D.I.Y. Face Mask

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 1/2 teaspoon of honey or as needed until mixture forms a paste

Directions: Mix all three ingredients together in a cup and apply to your face. After 15-30 minutes rise off with warm water.

There are endless variations of this mask. If you want more powerful exfoliation, use more nutmeg than cinnamon. If you want a gentler exfoliation, use more cinnamon than nutmeg. Want more moisturization, add more honey (although this may cause it to drip off your face)

*I have fairly sensitive skin and I don’t get any irritation from this mask however I have heard some say this mask may cause some irritation for extremely sensitive skin so be careful if you fall into that category.

I swear by this face mask and love it!

If you give it a try, let me know what you think!

  2. Nutmeg and cinnamon are far too active for skin, especially acne. Both will cause inflammation and the risk of a chemical burn is high.

Really!? I’ve had such good luck with this combination in getting rid of my acne and acne scarring. What would you recommend instead?
