Hi guys!
Today I thought to share my top foundation picks. I have oily/combination skin, leaning towards oiliness and acne. I have a couple picks in high end foundations as well as several drugstore foundation options in heavy, medium, and light/sheer.
Take a look!
Heavy Coverage
Drugstore – Revlon Colorstay Makeup for Oily/Combination
I tend to like high coverage, long wearing foundation to get me through most days. These two are great options as they practically act as dupes for each other! Revlon also has a version of this foundation for normal to dry skin but I go for the oily skin version. These both last all day and will cover practically anything! Serious. They also don’t require a setting or mattifying powder (but I like to use one anyways.) Both brands are also great at having a bunch of shades so picking a color is easy-peasy!
Medium Coverage
High End – Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup (all used up and in the bin, sorry!)
Drugstore – L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup
For days when I want lighter coverage (or if I’m having a good skin day), these are the two foundations that I reach for. The Clinique foundation is great because of it’s acne fighting properties (aka salicylic acid) and they have an entire skin care line attached with this foundation that you could use, if you wanted. Alos, the Clinique acne foundation dries to a nice velvety finish. The L’Oreal is a great mid coverage foundation with a million and one shades to pick from. It can be applied more heavily or sheered out depending on how you choose to apply it.
Another good pick in this category would be the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Liquid Makeup. I believe that some people call it a dupe to the Clinique foundation.
Light to Sheer Coverage
Drugstore – L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
The L’Oreal BB Cream is a great option for oily skin as it is one of the few on the market that do not have SPF in the formula. It dries to a matte/velvet-esque finish as well. Prepare yourself for the texture though if you haven’t tried or heard of this product before. It is grainy and has no color prior to being blended onto the skin. As you blend, it activates the grainy particles to match your skin tone and (I think) create that velvety finish.
I don’t have any high end options in this category because I don’t believe in spending that much money on a sheer product. As I personally tend to lean towards something heavier that can be sheered out, if I want lighter coverage. Sorry guys!
What are your favorite foundations?
Are there any that you like that I didn’t mention?
