What I Ate Wednesday: Beach Vacation Edition

Hi all!

It is Wednesday here in Cozumel, Mexico and I thought to share with you guys what I have been eating while on vacation. Since our resort/ hotel is all inclusive, we haven’t had to worry too much about food but at the same time our choices have been a bit limited to whatever is being served that day.
Here’s a look:

Breakfast for me generally looks like this: tropical fruits, sweet breads, and black coffee. All the fruit taste so good and fresh! I love it! The breakfast buffet also included a station where you could get eggs in any form you wanted. Omelet, scrambled, you name it, they would make it.

As lunch was going to be late, my partner in crime and I shared some apple cinnamon granola bar cookies and 2 liters of water during our tour of Chichen Itza (photos coming tomorrow!)

Here is a close up of the packaging. I love looking at the packaging of foods that we have at home (the U.S.) and comparing them to the same thing in another country. You can’t deny that it’s interesting!

Most days during this trip, my lunches and dinners have been very similar. Today I had rice with veggies and refried black beans. I also got some orange, tomato, and cucumber slices. Lastly, I had a slice of a veggie fritada. I washed all this down with another bottle of water.

Dinner time and you can see lots of similarities with lunch. I had more rice, beans, and frittada. This time I had some fruit along side and a couple pieces of fried fish.

They served dinner with a plate of appetizers on the table. This included fried fish, cheese quesadillas, and fried beef and cheese wraps.

I can’t leave out dessert! I have been going to town on the desserts and sweets this week. Something is going to have to give once I get back home but I will worry about that later. This plate was shared between above mentioned crime partner and yours truly. It includes a cream puff each, a slice of chocolate cake, and a slice of the Mexican style French toast. I don’t know the correct name for it but it was delish! Dessert was had with a cup of black coffee. Yum!

We also would go out by the pool after dinner (and in the afternoon sometimes) and indulge in a couple drinks/nightcaps with other members of our group.

This has been a general look at what I have been eating this week. I have been eating WAY more than I normally do but I really don’t mind as I am on vacation. I can work it off once I get back, right?

What did you eat today? Does your diet change when on vacation? Let me know!

Until next time,
Ana Luiza
