Fab in 15: 5 Ways to Get Ready in a Flash

We’ve all felt that moment of panic when you realize that instead of simply snoozing your alarm, you’ve shut it off entirely. Now you only have 15 minutes to get ready and what do you do? Opt for the same leggings and oversized sweater your wore yesterday and toss your hair into a pony tail? Heck no! You are a fab fashionista and with these five tips you can be ready in a flash!

Try Your Clothes on the Night Before

A friend of mine recently let me in on how she pulls of killer style as a new mom. Sure we’ve all heard to lay out your clothes the night before, she told me, but how often have you actually tried them on to make sure they look as cute on as you think they do in your head? By simply taking ten minutes before bed, you can eliminate the “OMG I need something totally different to wear” panic moment in the morning.

You can conceal your I’m-wearing-the-same-jeans-and-a-tee-as-yesterday look by layering a little. Add a third piece and quickly fool anyone into believing that you had a full nights rest and a leisurely time in the morning. This can be anything! A boyfriend blazer,  a denim jacket, or a long vest would all work to create that dynamic dressed up look.

Guide to Your Perfect Holiday Red LipLipstick is a Style Saver

When it comes to beauty, I love a full face. However being crunched for time means you can often only get the bare bones. This is where your favorite lipstick comes in handy. Swipe some color onto your lips and load up the mascara for a beauty look in a flash. Product that work double duty like a powder foundation or a lip/cheek stain are great for on the go application.

As much as bright yellow is fun for the weekend, keep your work bag a classic color like black, camel, or navy. If your bag is guaranteed to match whatever it is you’re wearing, you have one less worry on your mind and one more moment for breakfast!

Another tip for gals who love to swap out their bags (I’m with your sisters!), is to always use and inner bag! This is a smaller bag that can carry your wallet, keys, phone, and lipstick and is easily swapped from purse to purse. This way you’ll never find yourself at the grocery cash register sans wallet like I did this weekend.

Having a handy set of neutral colors in your wardrobe will always streamline a rushed morning. Black goes with everything and all neutrals look great together no matter what. This is probably the fastest way to be dressed and out the door while staying chic! I love a monochromatic neutral look with a dash of red lipstick on a hurried morning. It works every time.

So this one may sound a little silly but if you have a great outfit that makes you feel like a serious #girlboss, snap a picture and save it into an album on your phone (or ya know, Instagram). This way if you wake up on the wrong side of the bed one morning, you have an instant mood lifting outfit already prepped with zero brain power! Cheers to not having to think first thing in the morning!

Love this – and yes when I worked in an office and/or commuted – it was always wise to plan the night before and iron clothes as necessary – lipstick is so so necessary as the final tough! Yikes, I hate going out where anyone sees me without some lipstick on!
