Ahh the holidays! ‘Tis the season for parties and gift giving. But what does it mean for style? Lots of dressing up mainly in either warm cozy layers or party dresses.
For me, this time of year also means wearing a lot of red. Something about this bold color just seems to strike a chord for this season. Maybe it’s because the Christmas colors are red and green, maybe it’s because red just looks amazing against fresh white snow? Anyway you slice it, red is the color to be wearing for this holiday season. If you aren’t super comfortable wearing a bold color like red, don’t worry, you don’t need to wear it head to toe in order to get in on that chic holiday style! I’ve rounded up 5 ways to wear red for the holidays that should have everyone covered! Just keep reading!
1) LIPSTICK
The easiest way to rock some red this holiday season is in your lipstick! While most people love to wear deeper berry shades during the fall, break out your red lippies during December. It’s a simple way to add a seasonal touch to any outfit, whether your headed to a holiday party or not. If you’ve not super confident about selecting, applying, and wearing a bold red lip, check out this 101 Guide for Perfect Holiday Red Lips and you’ll be rocking a red pout in no time!
2) ACCESSORIES
Red accessories are probably my favorite way to add a pop of bright holiday red to an outfit. You’ve all seen my favorite little red bag and it sees a lot of action this time of year. But don’t think you have to have a red handbag to do the trick. Any little hint of red can work. A red hair ribbon or nail polish, a red bracelet or
However for you babes who would like to add a little red bag to your stylish arsenal, I’ve giving away a Messanotte bag on my Instagram. It’s a gorgeous red leather bag with gold metal hardware and would look oh so perfect with all those holiday party outfits! Make sure to check out my Instagram for entry details (psst! I’m doing a giveaway every Friday leading up to Christmas so make sure to check back for more!)
3) SHOES
A red pair of shoes are another great way to add a little pop of red to any outfit but with a bit more commitment. Red heels are perfect for party season in particular! But don’t let red kicks be just for parties, these boots will give even your winter looks a pop of color.
4) HALF AND HALF
You can easily incorporate this bold holiday color into everyday looks as well as party (or office) outfits by picking an article of red clothing to wear. Because red is such a bold color, you can simply wear a single piece of red clothing for an all over bold look. Red shirt, sweater, scarf, or even red pants will give you a bold look without needing to be full on glam.
5) ALL OVER
The Little Red Dress is the perfect replacement for your standard LBD this time of year. The color makes is a little most sassy and sexy but you can still find some chic and flattering silhouettes. Plus in a see of people wearing black, you’re sure to stand out!
How will you be wearing red this holiday season? Let me know in the comments! I love hearing from you!
Until next time,
