Remember when I shared my business casual capsule wardrobe? Well one of my go-to stores is having a sale! Additional 30% off your entire purchase with code: THANKYOU (online) or in-store! I went this weekend and picked up a couple new things to add to my work wardrobe.
Whenever I’m shopping for work clothes, I always try to find a good sale. Honestly nothing bums me out more than having to spend my limited clothes shopping budget on sensible and practical clothing (black dress pants, I’m looking at you). I commute by bus to work, so fun shoes are generally out of the question and weather is always an issue. I’d much rather save my shopping $$$ (more like $) to spend on fun pieces for the season but I try to make the best of it.
WHAT I BOUGHT
My goal in this shopping trip was to get some pieces that are good for both work and play while sticking with colors that will work with all the pieces I already have. I think we’ve all heard the shopping rule of thumb that you should be able to style any new piece of clothing at least three ways or don’t buy it. That’s what I try to do with my work clothes.
I snagged another pair of work pants but in a fun color. These pants are my go-to’s (comfort + durability = yes, please!) and I opted for red as that is an accent color in most of my wardrobe and will play well with a bunch of other pieces I already own.
I also picked up a couple different tops that will be great for the summer months. I can wear all of them with a cardigan or jacket at work but also with jeans on the weekends. Along with those I also picked up a new white button up. My old one is VERY old and looks worse for wear. I was also really tempted by this adorable watermelon print shirt. I may have to go back for it…
If you’re not in the market for work clothes but just want to save on some fun summer style, may I recommend this ruffled off the shoulder top, this printed jumpsuit (which I may go back for), this hot red dress with crochet detail, and this ADORABLE printed scarf with a map of NYC on it! I walked away with the New York scarf but there’s also a California version with both San Francisco and LA I think.
I’m kind of having a moment with scarves because I’m also loving this square one with a tropical theme and this classic leopard print.
If you are an online shopper, don’t forget to use Ebates and for the next week you’ll also get an additional 2% cash back on your purchase. It’s always the first place I look before I hit “Complete Order” in case I can save a couple more dollars.
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
