Hey babes, today I wanted to talk about one of my favorite subjects: shoes. I’m a high heels kind of girl and self proclaimed high heel hoarder all around. However the practicalities of real life sometimes just aren’t kind to us high heel lovers and we have to suck it up and wear flats.
However, this doesn’t mean that you have to simply wear a pair of functional flats. Keep reading for the top 5 best flats for high heel lovers!
5. Slingback flats
These have been a recent discovery but I’m in love and I think you will be too! Slingback flats have style points that most others don’t. Maybe it’s the minimalist cut, maybe it’s the pointed toe (get that leg elongation we love from heels!). Either way, these are a new favorite that you have to try. My favorite pair are these pink ones from Jeffrey Campbell. But don’t worry, they also come in neutrals and metallic, which brings me to my next point…
4. Metallic or ‘Bling’ flats
Easily add shine to any outfit without sacrificing style or functionality with a pair of metallic flats or really any pair with a little extra bling added. Many of us tend to look for different colors when we need variety in our wardrobe but don’t forget about metallics! These flats will help expand your shoe collection a little bit further but adding something different from the woman next to you.
3. Scalloped flats
These are another great staple pair of flats to own without being a total snore-fest. Compared the the typical pair of ballerina flats, they add some visual interest with the scalloped edge.
If you want to invest in a quality pair of these flats, go with the Chloe ‘Lauren’ flats. The leather is so soft you’ll practically feel like you’re walking barefoot but in the best possible way. If these are out of your budget, you should look into the Sam Edelman ‘Francis’ flats. These are very similar to the Chloe version but come in a variety of colors and are much friendlier to your wallet.

2. Cap Toe Ballet flats
Ballerina flats are a timeless, classic staple that should be in everyone’s wardrobe. My personal pick for these are the classic Chanel Cap Toe ballerina flats. They symbolize the effortless French style of dressing many of us wish to encapsulate.
These Chanel flats often can be found on second hand sites for anywhere between $200-$400 if you don’t want to pay full price (or don’t have a Chanel boutique nearby). However, if that is too steep for a pair of shoes, these are my favorite alternatives. I personally find that they are more comfortable than the Chanel flats and you’ll still get that iconic cap toe look for a fraction of the price.

1. Leopard Print Loafers
These are my most worn flats of all time! These are ideal for anytime you want that pop of leopard print but still have the comfort of flats. Also, having the loafer/smoking slipper shape versus a ballerina style makes this shoe a little less feminine.
You can dress these down for weekend errands or up for work with ease. (Leopard print is pretty much a neutral after all!) Think the ease of jeans and a tee shirt but worthy of your fashionista wardrobe.
Are you a flats wearer or high heel hoarder? What are your favorite flats? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
